Chunghwa Telecom, Nokia Siemens Networks to Conduct Live FDD-LTE Trial in Taiwan

The Telecommunication Laboratories of Taiwan's
Chunghwa Telecom will join hands with Nokia Siemens Networks on conducting a
live FDD-LTE (Frequency Division Duplex - Long Term Evolution) trial in Taiwan,
according to a press release by Chunghwa Telecom on April 12. The trial is
expected to constitute a basis for Chunghwa Telecom to evaluate the performance
of LTE and its potential as an evolution path for WCDMA (Wideband Code Division
Multiple Access). Nokia Siemens Networks has been supplying WCDMA solutions to
Chunghwa Telecom and will provide all LTE equipment such as core network and
base stations, as well as technical support, for Chunghwa Telecom during the
live FDD-LTE trial.
